Starwood has announced that the beautiful Sheraton in Poipu on the island of Kauai, one of my favorite hotels, is in the planning stages of being converted to timeshare. This comes on the news that the company will be building a 391 unit Westin timeshare on Maui next to their existing one.
This is is great news to those of us who love Hawaii and Kauaii in particular.
I’ve done many exchanges to both Maui and Kauai and always spend time in the Sheraton’s first class spa on Kauai as well as having a libation or 2 in the great bar called “Humu’s”.
The grounds, landscaping and water features at the resort are really incredible.
Of course, it will take enormous effort and strategy to be able to get an exchange into it when it opens, especially because Starwood Club members will have the highest priority. Yet, there is always some inventory set aside for exchangers through Interval International for those who really know how to work the II exchange system.
